Description:
The Midwest Lost Ski Areas Project (MWLSAP) is an ongoing archival initiative dedicated to documenting the hundreds of defunct and "never-opened" lift-served ski areas across the Midwest. As the Graphic Designer and Creative Director for this project, I developed a cohesive visual identity, including a custom logo and innovative photo styling, that captures a grainy, vintage aesthetic reflecting the nostalgic and historical nature of these lost hills. Implementing intentional design principles and a curated color palette, I helped to increase project visibility and brand awareness among outdoor enthusiasts and historical researchers, helping to tell the stories of a region that continues to maintain a significant presence in the American skiing industry.
