The artwork incorporates Greek-style columns marked with the Roman numerals MMXII (2012) and MMXV (2015), referencing the album's production timeline. For The Future... is the band’s second full-length studio album. It is dedicated to the memory and vision of Demse Zullo, the band's founding drummer and producer, who passed away in early 2015.
